Cooper Construction are environmentally responsible
Across all our activities, Cooper Construction aims for more sustainable ways of working. Wherever possible we use the most environmentally friendly materials and energy options and have participated in pioneering eco construction projects within the surrounding area.
We also seek to minimise the environmental impact of our work. The majority of site waste is collected by lorry and taken for manual sorting and wherever possible, reused or recycle.
Hardcore is crushed using our own crusher and reused, timber is shredded using our own shredder and reused as mulch, plastics are recycled, and waste steel and metals are sent to a materials recycling centre. Our focus to source all our work locally is evidence of our commitment to help keep ‘waste miles’ to a minimum.
Our environmental policy
We recognise that effective management of our environment makes good business sense and is a fundamental and integral part of our business. To achieve this we :
Comply with our legal responsibilities and play our part in influencing future legislation.
to avoid waste and encourage conservation, re-use and recycling, eg. chipping, composting and waste disposal management, etc.
Dispose of waste materials as required by the requirement of current legislation
Conserve the use of resource, particularly those which are scarce or non-renewable
Be sensitive to the environmental concerns of the communities through which we operate and responding to them.
Require our suppliers and contractors to have proper regard for our Environmental Policy for the goods and services they provide us.
Communicate this policy to our staff, suppliers and customers and help to implement it.
